Can “lemon frost” geckos help unlock cancer clues?

There is an upcoming science article describing the gene SPINT1 on lemon frost geckos that could help research cancer for humans.

The geckos used in the experiment are a new colouring of common pet. My source, the owner couldn’t resist the new coloration, similar to people falling in love with puppies at the pound. The problem arose when their offspring developed cancer spots similar to melanoma. The owner teamed up with the group of scientists researching to find a solution, which could now lead to clues in the research for cancer in humans.
